Restore and honour your
military photographs.
ANZAC portraits, WWI and WWII military photographs, veterans' reunion images — restored and colourised with historically researched accuracy and the respect they deserve.
Honouring service through
careful restoration.
Military photographs represent some of the most historically significant images in Australian family collections. The young man in uniform before embarkation. The group portrait taken in Egypt before Gallipoli. The veterans at an Anzac Day reunion, medals on their chests. These photographs deserve particular care.
My approach to military restoration goes beyond simply fixing the physical damage. I research the specific uniforms, insignia, medals and settings of each era — cross-referencing period photographs and historical records to ensure that colourisation is accurate rather than approximate.
For medal ribbons in particular, I work from photographs of the veteran's actual medals where available — ensuring every ribbon is the correct colour and in the correct order. The Rats of Tobruk veterans image in my portfolio is an example of this approach.
These photographs are often intended for display at Anzac Day, for family histories, or as gifts to veterans and their families. I take the responsibility of that purpose seriously in every project I undertake.

Military memorabilia and restoration
Military memorabilia framing — shadow boxes, medal displays, regimental photographs — is a speciality for many picture framers. Photo restoration complements this service naturally: rather than displaying a cracked, faded portrait alongside pristine medals, the whole display can be elevated.
If you're a framer working with military memorabilia, I can provide restoration services through your business — see how the partnership works.
